'Social Security is our Right'

NAAWU’s members, the agricultural allied workers, are rising in unity to demand dignity, recognition, and protection. Contributing more than 50% of the nation’s income, yet they remain unrecognised, unregistered, and unprotected. They are calling on the government to allocate a minimum of 5% of the national GDP annually to ensure the fulfilment of five core social security entitlements for 50 crore unorganised workers.

The demands are:

1. We are workers – Recognize and Register us
2. Wage compensation for Maternity of Rs. 50,000
3. Employees State Insurance (ESI) with 5 main entitlements
4. Pension of minimum Rs. 5,000 per month
5. Disability and Death compensation of minimum Rs. 5,00,000
